Cobra  (snake) pose activates the throat center, Vishuddhad chakra. It activates thyroid and parathyroid glands to balance metabolism. It also opens the heart and chest area and helps reduce effects of sitting at a desk for a long time i.e. slumping.

With Cobra pose, begin on your belly bringing your legs together with your palms face-down just underneath your shoulder blades. Your elbows are placed back. In this position, hiss like a snake. Do several times and hold up for a good 5 seconds. In this holding position you can also turn head to the left and then to the right. Come out of the pose and then go into cobra again and this time, move both back legs up and down and then relax down.

  • Aides digestion by massaging the abdominal organs
  • Stretches the chest and lungs and activates throat center
  • Alleviates stress and fatigue
